The association from the Lower Formation of the Chiatsun Group of southern Tibet (CTJ in Appendix) has a very low similarity coefficient (less than ) with any other associations or communities with Saucrorthis, indicating the substantial difference between the Aporthophyla Fauna and the Saucrorthis Fauna.   The field revision of the Carboniferous and Lower Permian stratigraphy of the northern Bogdashan (South Junggar, Northwest China) shows that the Lower to Middle Carboniferous island arc volcanic rocks, widely developed in this region, are overlapped everywhere by carbonate and terrigenous-carbonate sediments, containing occasional lava flows and overlain up the section by thick terrigenous.

In the Eifeleian, the South China Region is distinct from coeval faunas present in the Shan States of Burma. The closest affinities of the latter are with the Rhenish-Bobemian Region. The Late Devonian biofacies and lithofacies data necessitate a major shift of the Devonian continental units from the position shown here to one with a closer. This paper describes a new actinocerid cephalopod fauna from the western part of the Shan Plateau in Myanmar (Sibumasu Block), and discusses its significance.

The cephalopod fossils are preserved in shallow marine limestones of the Wunbye Formation (Pindaya Group) and its equivalent strata. The fauna consists of Ordosoceras theini sp. nov. Rocks of undoubted Permian age in Myanmar form part of a Late Paleozoic carbonate sequence which has been described as the ‘Plateau Limestone’, covering the greater part of eastern Myanmar ().From the Myanmar–China frontier area in the northern Shan State, the limestones extend southwards and westwards, through Thipaw and Pyinoolwin townships into Pindaya township in the southern Shan Cited by:   A Pamir fauna described by Ilyina (), dated at Kungurian or younger, is also possibly an expression of the Cyathaxonia fauna, as is the non-dissepimented solitary coral, Lophophyllidium orientale, reported from the Plateau Limestone in the southern Shan States of Myanmar (Smith, ).

Permian carbonates are widespread in the eastern part of Myanmar and western and southern Thailand, and have been reported from Shan, Kayah, Kayin and Mon states (Brunnschweiler, ; Garson et al., ; Grant, ; Waterhouse et al., ; Maung Thein, ; Thura Oo et al., ; Zaw Win and Khaing, ; Zaw Win, ; Ueno et al., lower Paleozoic in M yanmar.

Historical Maw-Shan states extended well beyond the Burmese Shan States, ranging from full-fledged kingdoms of Assam in the northwest to Lan Xang in the east, to Lan Na and Ayutthaya in the southeast, as well as.
